Frankfurt am Main, 30 September 2026– Debtist is setting the course for the next growth phase and, following Norvestor's entry, is establishing a board for the first time. Jan Kemper will take over as chair of the new body. The experienced chair and technology manager supported, among other things, Zalando during its scaling and IPO phase, and was Group CFO of ProSiebenSat.1 as well as CFO and COO of N26.
The establishment of the board follows the entry completed in June 2026 of the Nordic private equity investor Norvestor, which has since been the majority shareholder of Debtist. Together, Debtist and Norvestor are pursuing the goal of further developing the AI-based platform, driving forward European expansion and expanding the company's structures for further growth.
Experience in scaling and transforming technology companies
With Jan Kemper, Debtist gains a chair with many years of experience in building and scaling high-growth technology companies as well as in complex financing and transformation phases.
From 2010 to 2017, Kemper helped shape the development of Zalando and, as CFO, oversaw, among other things, the company's IPO in 2014. He then served as Group CFO of ProSiebenSat.1 from 2017 to 2019. After a stint as Managing Director and CFO/COO at Omio, he moved to N26 as CFO in 2021 and additionally took on the position of COO there in 2022. Kemper began his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.
Today, Kemper works as a chair, investor and operating partner for high-growth, founder- and investor-backed companies. Among other roles, he is chair at refurbed, Appinio and RYZON. In addition, he is a senior advisor at McKinsey & Company and an honorary professor at RWTH Aachen University.
Debtist has shown an impressive development in a very short time and combines a strong technological foundation with great European market potential. The next phase will be about further accelerating international growth while at the same time creating the structures that can support this scaling in the long term – without losing the entrepreneurial speed that characterizes Debtist today. I am very much looking forward to supporting the founders, the management team and Norvestor on this journey. – Prof. Dr. Jan Kemper, chair of the Debtist board

New board strengthens strategic support
Debtist was founded in 2023 and has, within just a few years, developed into one of the fastest-growing providers of digital receivables management and debt collection in Europe. Its own AI-based platform automates large parts of receivables management and enables companies to process open receivables digitally and at scale.
With the new board, Debtist is creating an additional structure for the company's long-term strategic development. The focus is particularly on further scaling the platform, expanding into additional European markets and further developing the organizational structures.
With Jan Kemper, we are gaining an experienced entrepreneur, chair and investor who knows the scaling of technology companies first hand. His experience and strategic perspective will give us valuable momentum in Debtist's next growth phase. On a personal level it is also simply a great fit: Jan is open, approachable and brings a lot of enthusiasm. We are very much looking forward to further developing Debtist together with him. – Matteo Benedetti, co-founder of Debtist
The establishment of the board is another step in the collaboration between Debtist and Norvestor. Together with the founders, Norvestor is pursuing the goal of further developing Debtist into a leading European provider of digital receivables management and debt collection. The founders Matteo Benedetti, Tony Zabel and Brandon Baumgarten are driving the further development of the company forward together with Norvestor even after the transaction.
Since our entry at Debtist, we have been working together with the founders to create the conditions for sustainable international growth. An experienced chair is an important building block in this. With Jan, we are gaining someone who knows the challenges of fast-growing companies from his own experience and can give Debtist valuable strategic momentum. – Anton Oliver, partner at Norvestor and board member at Debtist
